As an experiment, I attempted to use a collage photos 3 photos as a collection.
However, those photos don’t get posted to Gmaps. What is the reason that collage photos don’t get published?

Hi @O_Nate
I have now tried to add a collage with three photos taken by me at a location, I have not succeeded.
Collage is probably not considered a creation of its own.
We expect clarifications from the moderators.
Thanks for checking with the community! : ]
It would seem that collages of photos mostly do not adhere with the Content policy of Google Maps. (possibly due to the size and border, as it would not really represent very well the environment of the POI the contribution would be related to).
If in case there would be any suggestion that can be crafted into a well described post, please do not hesitate to share in the Idea Exchange. (please be noted to make sure have the guidelines followed as well)
As mentioned, it was an experiment. The idea was to share 3 photos of food in an Instagram sized photo. So, the size shouldn’t matter as I had optimised the photo to about 250kb.
As you mentioned, it may not adhere to Google’s policies. All good. No harm just having some fun creating content.
Hi @O_Nate ,
Thanks for clarifying!
Indeed, at times collages may help represent our thoughts better than one plain photo, am I right? : ]
The regarded size I mentioned would be about the visual size (width and height), should it be more helpful in many aspect in Google Maps.
@To_paul well then that is good news.
What did you have to modify? Looks like there are a few opportunities ahead.
Thanks for taking the time to experiment.
@sonnyNg yes, the collage was to show a representation of the place with one photo.
Again, it was to have a bit of fun and experiment. Do something a bit different.
Thanks for the help and suggestions.
I modified the photo a bit with the Google Photo editor,
I reduced the collage a bit. I cut from the edges of the collage then I downloaded it to the computer and from there I added it to the location
That looks really interesting, thanks for letting me check on the experiments! : ]
on this collage I have it in Google Photos, and uploaded it directly to the location.
I didn’t download it to my computer anymore
so you just have to cut the white side edge of the collage with the editor, then save the changes and add the collage to the location.
my pictures had gps coordinates and they were still in collage
