Climbing to the highest point of the Macau Tower

In 2015 my wife and I climbed the the mast of the Macau Tower in China. My wife did very well doing it with me as it was well out of her comfort zone. For me that loves adventure it pushed the limited for to too even though we were attached to a line.

Conquer Macau’s highest summit at 338 meters/1109 feet. Stand at the very top of the iconic Macau Tower by climbing 100 meters up the mast’s vertical ladders. Tower Climb can guarantee the maximum height exposure and best 360 degree views.

This activity requires clients to be in moderate shape – it is a very physical product and not for the faint of heart! Our own adrenalin addicted thrill seeking crew rate this as one of the scariest activities we have!

Being out in the open and exposed to the vast void of space is an experience very few people get to experience. This is one of the MUST DO adventure activities for anyone that loves pushing themselves and exploring the unknown! It should take around 2.30h to 3h.

Hi @TheEagleEye ,

It definitely looks a breathtaking experience. Were you with a qualified guide during this experience? Was you first time on such a high tower?

In 2015 I did the Highest Bungy Jump in the world. I did this straight after I had done the Tower Climb.

Be part of a Guinness World Record in the Sky of Macau! The AJ Hackett Macau Tower Bungy Jump is 233m / 764ft high, making this jump a Guinness World Record for the Highest Commercial Bungy Jump in the world. In order to make this jump from the Macau Tower a reality, a specially designed bungy cord, guide cables, and recovery system had to be developed. AJ and his team spearheaded the new design and testing of all equipment and in doing so invented what his organization is now referring to as the 2nd generation bungy cord. This is a sphere shaped cord that is larger at the top than the bottom and allows jumper weights to be evenly dispersed over the entire length of the cord when jumping from such a height. “Designing this new bungy cord is a major step forward for us. It will now allow us to jump from any building or structure in the world” says Founder AJ Hackett. Jumpers leap from a platform 233m above the ground and experience the ultimate free fall experience before slowing down 30 meters from the ground and rebounding back up. The guide cables system ensure you do not make contact with the tower and enable bungy jumps to happen in nearly all weather conditions. Night Bungy is also available from 6pm in winter and 7.30pm in summer check out our opening hours below for details or inquire here. Since the dawn of time man has battled with fear. Since the dawn of time man has dreamed of flying. Realize your dreams and conquer your fears!

Hey @TheEagleEye ,

I bet you were feeling quite scared at the beginning, but then you had an amazing satisfaction in overcoming it.

If you like heights and sky feel free to have a look on a post that I wrote sometime ago called 3 buone ragioni per visitare Sopot, Bulgaria .

@Sorbe at start I was okay. It was quite windy and the higher we got the more frightened it got. I see your post of 3 buone ragioni per visitare Sopot, Bulgaria, looks like fun. I am still to go to Bulgaria.

I would advise you to visit Bulgaria @TheEagleEye .

If you like winter sports right now is the perfect season to come over, otherwise for outdoor activities I recommend you to come after May.

Hi @TheEagleEye ,

Thank you for sharing your experience with us.

I am so afraid of these bungee jumps, but I admire people who dare to jump. Congrats for your courage.

By the way, I redacted your post, because you used an external link which can be considered as spam or promotion. I would suggest that you include links to Google Maps instead.

Hi @TheEagleEye ,

You weren’t kidding about Macau Tower, this looks incredible!

I’m literally getting sweaty palms just by looking at that photo, I can feel a bit of adrenaline just by reading your description.

It must have taken an enormous amount of courage to make yourself keep going.

It looks extremely scary, but If I were given the chance to go up there I would take it in a heartbeat.

Wow @TheEagleEye !

Can you take away a curiosity? What speed can you get by doing bungee-jumping from that height before slowing down?

Thanks,

David

@helga19 thanks for reply. Yes I do like extreme sport but don’t do much now. I used to do a lot before the time of social media, let alone the internet. I get tempted often but resist. I enjoy travelling now.

@davidhyno Great question. Jumpers accelerate to a top speed of 220 kph (124.27 mph). kph - kilometers per hour, mph - miles per hour.

It is very similar with most falls as gravity pulls us down as very similar rates.
