Climb peak 29, highest peak in Muria mountain

Peak 29 or called puncak songolikur is one of some peak in Muria mountain besides Argopiloso, Natas Angin and Argojembangan. Located on the border of Kudus regency and Jepara regency, Central Java. This peak has a height of 1602 meters or one miles above sea level.

This climb can be started from Semliro hamlet, Rahtawu village, one of the village located on the valley in Kudus regency. The access to Semliro reachable by car too. All vehicles include motorcycles too must be parked in the space provided there. For preparation, we do not need to carry a lot of equipment. If we don’t stay overnight, bringing soft drinks, wooden stick and pain relief cream is enough, because in some places later there are several food stalls and toilet.

Post 1 with motorcycle taxi was parked, food stalls and toilet

In post 1, we bought a ticket first for 3000 rupiahs. If we want to save energy and be quick, we can order a motorcycle taxi, to Sendang Bunton or Bunton wellsprings be charged 50 thousand rupiahs and to Eyang Pandu hermitage be charged 75 thousand rupiahs.

This junction explain where has two tracks, via Trenggo track and via Bunton wellsprings

From post 1 to the three junction, this track not too heavy and not too much sharp incline. After arriving at the three junction, if we want to be quick, we can choose Trenggo track but I choose via Bunton wellsprings.

Incline and incline ?

From there to Bunton wellsprings, this track is too heavy because has long sharp incline. Arriving at Bunton wellsprings, in there are several food stalls, resting place and prayer room nearby. We can wash and take water in the spring.

Arriving at Bunton wellsprings complex

A man wash his hands at Bunton wellsprings

After crossing that, we walked towards Eyang Pandu hermitage. This track is not too heavy and has not much incline. Trenggo track and Bunton track meet on the path between this two places.

If we want to go down faster, we go down via the trenggo line

This is Eyang Pandu hermitage

Arriving there, we see some foodstalls nearby and Eyang Pandu hermitage. Special trail motorbikes that are usually passed by ojek drivers can only get here. After that, we climb to peak 29 from there which can be taken between 20 to 40 minutes.

Arrived at there, west 29 peak

Other peak(east 29 peak) after trough peak 29 monument

Duplak hamlet, Tempur village, Jepara regency from peak 29. Not too clearly

Finally, we arrived at peak 29. Can be finished in about three and a half hours. But it turns out that the 29 peaks have two peaks, namely in the west and east. We arrived at the west peak firstly with border of Kudus and Jepara monument, prayer room(for Hindu specially), toilet and some foodstalls too. Then, we walked to east peak. In there has big rock formation and a tower. From there, we can see Argopiloso peak clearly, Duplak hamlet and others sight. More beautiful if we look at the view at sunrise and the clouds hanging below the peaks.

Quite a trip to climb this mountain.

Thanks, fo the information on an interesting excursion @

Why the name of the place is peak 29? Are there so many peaks? Have you visited all?

Hi, @C_T . 29 is one of the name for this peak but when I counted the number of peaks on gmaps it turned out that it didn’t amount to 29 and I forgot to ask the caretaker why it is called that. . I have visited two peaks, Abiyoso and this peak. These are muria mountains with several peaks. One of them was the peak of 29, but this is marked with the name Mount Muria as highest peak.

Remembering about climbing mountains, bro @FahmiAdimara . Can you sharing comments about the beginning of the climb before finally climbing Mount Everest and where you first climbed? How about the top of the mountain that I discuss in my post? Easy or very easy? :slightly_smiling_face:

Hai @Irfan_dPriyanto .

Congratulation to reach Puncak Songolikur.

It is not easy though, but you made it.
