I am Architect, Pukar Babu Shrestha from Nepal. Currently I am involved in urban planning project In ChanguNarayan area, near Kathmandu. We use Google Map extensively in our projects. It has become an essential tool for the planning and to conceptualize overall view of site. Mapping of Kathmandu, has not been as advance as of other cities/country. I noticed lots of landmarks within our project site was missing or miss guiding in google map. so just for our own information, we started adding photos in proper locations and added some locations as well.
Since, the google map was very interactive, it made me realized my photos were being viewed a lot and was giving them correct information’s as well. As I understood my photos was making difference, I continued doing it beyond my project site as well.
As an architect, I love sharing, architecture perspective photos, which help see the real beauty of the location and buildinga. As we know picture is worth thousand words, I want my photos to be clear and emphasize the magnificence of the building and landscape.
Our projects takes us to different locations, exploring these new locations and getting inspiration from its surrounding is part of our design process. Transforming those new inspiring energy to the photos and sharing it in global platform gives different level of satisfaction.
