Hi all,
i wanted to know if it was acceptable to upload pictures of places which i myself havn’t visited.
i have pictures of my sister’s europe trip, especially Holland/france/germany which i was thinking to upload.
There is no copyright or privacy issue with those pictures and she’s OK with it.
Also, i have pictures of my South Africa trip from 2003 which are old fashioned photographs developed from roll, since that time digital cameras’ were prohibitively expensive & not at all common. I wanted to scan them & upload. Hope no issues in that.
Thanks,

Hi @goelmyself I believe photos should be your own although wait for confirmation from a moderator.

Hi @goelmyself
please go through the link given by @deepakjhic
“Contributions must be based on real experiences and information”
Of course your sister can upload the photos by themselves
About your photos taken on 2003: for being helpful, the photos should reflect the actual situation of a place. What about to share your old photos on your channels instead
I also suggest you to change the label of your post to How To

Hi @PaulPavlinovich @brittym @AriMar would like you guys feedback on my post please, since am still not clear regeading the rules & policies on photos uploading… Please help…
Thanks a lot, in advance…
Hi @goelmyself both here on Connect and on Maps you may only upload photos that you own the rights to i.e. photos you have made.
Generally speaking uploading old photos isn’t useful.
If you upload images to places you have not visited, it may trigger the spam protection.
Hope this helps you.

Hi @goelmyself ,
It is indeed valuable to check the valuable points that everyone have shared. : ]
Thanks for raising up the question!
As @ErmesT previously mentioned, the post would be relocated to the How-tos section, as it is more suitable.
