You heard it right ! Cinépolis is a Mexican chain of movie theaters. Its name means City of Cinema and its slogan is La Capital del Cine. Cinépolis is the biggest cineplex chain in Mexico with 427 theaters in 97 cities. It is now in Chennai, Thoraipakkam, OMR.
The reason why this matters because, OMR did not have much options for movie lovers. Currently, there are only a few theatres such as AGS Cinemas in Vivera Mall, and INOX Cinemas in Marina Mall which are located deep down south of chennai. Areas which are positioned near the starting point of OMR has S2 Theyagaraja Cinemas which is off OMR. The arrival of Cinépolis means that the people in Thoraipakkam, Okkiyampet, Velachery will now have an easy option.
