I recently visited Alwar City, which is around 133Km from Gurugram City and around 150Km from Delhi. The entire route is smooth and roads are well kept except a small rough patch for few kilometers.
You will experience the view of Aravalli’s, villages and farming. The lush green highway is a true bliss for eyes and journey.
I visited the Chudi or Bangles market, the narrow lanes gave the taste of history and heritage. The shops were old with variety of bangles specially in Lac. Most of them were made of Cold lac. They were being made under the heat of Koyla, the hard core skill which is a carry forward to them. There were so many designs and colors that one cannot register or make decision. Some of them were coated with mirrors, colorful beads, glitters and available at affordable prices. Available in different colors and designs for every life occasion.
The market has the magical combination of art, heritage and polite people. The shop owners were helpful and knowledgeable. Truly a colorful and soulful market.
“Lac makers melt the pure lac and make an amalgam of lac and wax & titanium to add color and cohesiveness. The molten lac is sticky. It sticks to the surface (a metal bangle ring for instance) it is applied. Therefore, when molten lac is obtained from mud kilns, it is primarily placed on an oil-coated metal place and then rolled into equal-sized pieces that fit the bangle design”.
