#ChristmasInMyCity - Melbourne

Have you ever wondered how other cities celebrate Christmas? Well, this year we are going to attempt to answer this question.

As part of a worldwide challenge (https://www.localguidesconnect.com/t5/General-Discussion/World-Wide-ChristmasInMyCity-Challenge-Showcase-how-your-city/td-p/2074639), we are going to share with the world how Melbourne celebrates Christmas. Who knows, we might just make Melbourne someone’s next holiday destination.

The plan is that we meet up on Monday 23 Dec for lunch followed by a walk to take photos. Feel free to post to this discussion page any suggestions you might have of spots you know that are photo-worthy for this subject and we’ll try to weave it into our walk.

Meetup point: Flinders Street Station under the ‘dome’ with the clocks

Time: 11:50 am

Lunch spot: Possibly Flinders Pho (subject to change on the day) at 12 pm

Finish: Around 3 or 4 pm (depending on how many spots we end up covering)

You are free to leave when you need to or even if you just want to meet us for lunch.

Equipment: Your mobile phone camera is fine. Fancier gear is also fine.

If you know of a celebration on a different day that you are particularly keen to photograph and share the photos, you are welcome to take those photos and share them to our shared album. OR if you would rather write your own post to curate your photos better, you are welcome to do that and link it back to the original challenge post.

Hey @MariaNgo ,

Try to edit your post from the three dots on the left. You will be able to find the location tab after the post. Just pick the most accurate location for this meet-up. :slightly_smiling_face:

@MoniDi I meant to say that I meant to post this to the ‘host a meet up’ but instead posted it as a post under meetup. I’m so ‘doh!’ tonight. (It’s past my bedtime I think. I was writing it and thinking, when is the date question going to pop up, doesn’t it show up in a different panel?)

It’s okay! It happens to everyone. :slightly_smiling_face: Just remember that once your meetup is approved, it will show up here in the Meet-ups board anyway.

I wish I could join you at Flinters St.

I’ve “deleted” unwanted posts like this: Edit, then remove all the text and write “I deleted this this post” or just write one space " ". Then save again. Not elegant, but effective.
