I have been to Vienna for the first time during Christmas holidays this year and it was a great spot to try some local food, glühwein ( hot wine with cinnamon and fruit flavours) and marzipan confections.
I tried Sacher torte in its original spot, Hotel Sacher and it was a nostalgic experience.
I’ve been to the Christmas market in Vienna few years ago, and I was impressed about the food and the mulled wine. Most of the Christmas markets look like that in Hungary too, but the spirit is not the same. What was your favorite dish?
Thanks for sharing the beautiful photos about Christmas markets. What about the non Christmas days? Are those markets disappeared ? Do they only work in Christmas?
Indeed, Vienna is spectacular during Christmas time. I truly enjoyed apfelstrudel and schnitzel there… In the markets, I liked sausages and hot wine the most…I also like warm chestnuts sold on the streets @Petra_M I added a picture of it to my post as well
Hi EsinHezer, this incredible post coz I’ve always wanted to come to Vienna, definitely Not to run or Compete, just a visit. Now it seems I have a headstart on what I’ll try first day there. Thanks very much.
Maybe next Christmas I’ll telling people a different Menu on your visit in Australia.
There is a big Connection between Kenyan’s and Australia… like you know Marathon records broken right in the heart this great City…
@EsinHezer Thank you for sharing your Christmas in Vienna. I always love to see and find out how other people from around the world celebrate Christmas. Where will you be celebrating Christmas this year?
I was wondering if you’ve heard of my #ChristmasInMyCity 2021 world wide challenge? Thought I’d mention it in case you’d like to participate.
