hello everyone! just few more days before Christmas. any ideas or plans for the coming holidays?especially those who stay and are working here in japan, even on Christmas day. ( ノД`)…
Hi @IrishB !
You should totally go to a KFC Is what they do on Christmas (it’s weird but true).
Also, they usually buy and enjoy a Christmas cake, they are very popular in this time of the year.
Of course, the Christmas illuminations in Tokyo are amazing. Be sure to check Omotesando Avenue, or Caretta shopping mall in Shiodoma, or Akasaca Sacas, just to mention a few. In Shimbashi station the steam locomotive there is decorated also with Christmas lights, and you also have some in Shinjuku Southern Terrace, not far from the first Krispy Kreme that opened in Japan
thanks, for the tips. And also, i like ramen better than KFC…lol.
… smehow i think my post got doubled.
Christmas in Tokyo is more a couples holiday than a family holiday like in the West.
KFC and Christmas cake, like the person above me says are staples for this.
What’s more fun to look for is the forget the year parties! They’re going to be everywhere around the 27th!-1st!
Light illuminations are amazing here, and so are the mini Christmas markets. Roppingi Midland Christmas, illuminations in Ginza, Shibuya, Harajuku and Omotesando are beautiful right after the 4:30 PM sunset.
If you haven’t made plans for new years, make them now, it’s going to be hugely busy. Reservations are going out quick, especially on the trains for day trips.
“forget the year parties”, i sure like the sound of it! d=(^o^)=b
