Chitwan National Park, Nepal

Area: 932 sq km; Established: 1973; altitude: 150 to 815m
Location: situated in lowlands of the southern central part of the Nepal in chitwan district.
Flora: includes sal forest-70%;grassland-20%;Riverine Forest-7%;salwith chir pine-3%.the riverine forest consist of khair-sissoo,simal, trewia nudiflora, callicarpa macrophylla,etc. The greenlands includes saccharum spontanum (elephant gress).
Fauna: include more than 56 species of the mammals, 500 species of birds,47 sps.of reptiles,9 sps of amphibians, & 126 sps. Of fish.Asian onehorned Rhinoceros, Tiger, Leopard, Gaurbison, sloth bear,Elephants,Langur,Gangeticdolphin,Gharialcrocodile,peafowl,Junglefowl,Black partridge,pheasants, king fishers, bee eaters,etc are recorded in this park.
Cultural Heritage: Live Indigenous Tharus in the park, Hindu religious sites are Bikram baba Balmiki Ashram.
Other special futures: Flood plains of rapti and Narayani Rivers. Visibale sites are manaslu (8163 m), Himalchuli (7893m), other peaks of the Himalayas.
