Checking Facts about 'Facts Checked' on Google Map

Hello Fellow LGs,

Just couple of days back I realised that ‘Facts Checked’ contribution number is stuck at one number only for over a year now.

I have been contributing the facts checked information quite regularly but the count is stuck to 179 as depicted in the screenshot.

Your post How to check some facts - these days! related to achieving Master Fact Finder badge and related challenges. My problem statement is not that.

Secondly, this update talks about something similar to my problem statement but that is still open ended as it is not clear that where the count is being considered for facts checked.

And, again I am highlighting here the problem statement is not about achieving Master Fact Finder badge rather it is about the number of contributions on Facts Checked. The badge is already achieved but the number of contributions is stuck at 179 despite me sharing more and more on Facts Checked.

The reason why local guides can not get the master fact finder badge is that facts checked are not counted or counted incorrectly.

As explained the team is aware of this and a solution is being worked on.

Yes @MortenCopenhagen number of contributions on Facts Checked is not counted correctly rather it is getting counted under some other head. And, this is causing the issue of not moving the Facts Checked counter in the Google Map dashboard.

This could also be the reason for not achieving Master Fact Finder badge for those who are yet to receive this badge.

Having said that, this issue is pertaining since long and wonder why the technical team is not able to solve the issue even after two years of publishing this post An update on “Check the facts” and “Discover missing info” .

Are we missing something here?

@MortenCopenhagen This sounds funny :grinning: in these days that even after two years asking for the solution is termed as impatience by the Googlers who do not take time to delete/hide or remove your contribution just on the basis how machines learn about it.

Anyways, like other instances, here also this seems to be one way traffic when it comes to Google.

Only good part is the existence of this community which I discovered on 23-March-2023 and since then actively interacting with you all on various topics.
