Cheaper Gas on Driving Tour

The biggest part of driving long distance is planning, or no planning.

As a local guide, I would like to build up an instant location finder when a driving route is mapped, by Google Map, of course. The highlighted route would indicate reasonable gas prices; therefore avoiding driving until the gas tank is empty and having to fill-up some of the priciest gas.

That said, I have starred the gas stations along the way between San Francisco, California and Portland, Oregon. A total of more than 600 miles I can reliably fill gas while resting on reasonable stretch of miles and time. As of today, March 2020, the typical gas price along interstate highway is $3.75 in California and $3.25 in Oregon. With some help of Google Map showing gas station location and sometimes showing prices, I was able to regularly stop and fill up at $2.96/gal in California and $2.60 in Oregon.

Want to know which gas stations? Just ask, or find them in Google Map. However, a confirmed detail is always in the hand of a local guide who actually has been there, and done that.
