Vue des toits de la Chapelle du château de Versailles. Elle vient juste d être rénovée. Lors de la visite on peut découvrir l intérieur de cette chapelle

Happy to see that the Palace of Versailles has been opened again, and also that the restoration of the Chapelle is ended. It was under restoration when I visited the castle, in 2019. Here is my post Versailles - where everything is Gold

Was it crowded during your last visit? How do they manage the visit, due to the actual situation?

I want to inform you that, to keep connect organized, I am merging together your posts about the same subject.

Even if you are posting about Paris, one of the most beautiful and visited cities in the world, it would be great if (instead of dropping little “drops”) you can write your story in a single post, adding also a link in Maps as a reference, for the rest of the community to better enjoy your contents.

@ErmesT Great post on Versailles back in 2019, and your descriptions are very helpful.

I am curious how I might be able to find some local guides in the Paris region to get a sense of how things are in the city - if restaurants and museums are open, etc - since I’m headed there next week. The hotel staff says, “don’t worry about it” but I think I’d trust the Local Guide community more, but I’m not sure how to find them.

Thank you in advance, and keep up the great posts!

Hi @DevenN

Thanks for asking, and sorry for responding so late.

I hope you will have a lot of fun in Paris.

To find some Local Guide from the area my suggestion is to add Paris in your favorite locations in Connect (You can now follow posts about your favorite locations on Connect ) to find some Local guide from the area. Then you can write a post in Travel asking for suggestions, and tagging the Local Guides from Paris.

I am sure many will be able to give you some good advice

Thanks, Pierre. We’ll be taking precautions and using the EU vaccine passport app, but I’m glad to get some perspective on the the ground there. Merci beaucoup!

Ermest, thank you. This is solid advice, and I’ll do as you instructed and see what happens. Happy to see the response from this community. Cheers!

You are welcome, @DevenN , and I am sure that @Pifa can give you some tip.

When I hosted a 36 meet-up in Paris in 2019 no one was from Paris (OMG) but we meet with @SovitaD , from Nepal. I’m tagging her because maybe she will be around.

Funny how the Local Guides world is, when you are active in Connect: you start building friendships all over the world.

With Sovita we meet twice: first time in California, then in Paris.
