Chasing inspiration

When I was a child, I spent a lot of time studying the space around me. Running through the streets, climbing construction sites and explore abandoned houses - I was a pioneer for myself. In those moments of discovery, I had this feeling, that everyone feels in their childhood. When you find something new, something truly unique - you feel inspired! It comes from inside, it fills you. And in these moments you think - it’s me! I found this place, none of my friends know about it. And here comes your imagination! For example - when I found an abandoned house in the historical center of Saint-Petersburg (It was 1997 year) the inspiration inside me screamed - “Go ahead into it!”. Making my way through shards from broken windows and a “mountains” of construction waste, I found myself in the courtyard. From the courtyard, all the windows were in good condition and through the windows, I saw a lot of people in strict suites worked there. In the courtyard, there was also parking of experience cars hidden behind an iron fence. To say that I was surprised - this is the weakest epithet describing my feelings! Children’s imagination immediately gave me many options: The secret agent headquarters?; Foreign agents base??; Mafia??? Feelings overwhelmed me. I had to tell about my discovery, and I hurried home.

When I came home and tell the story to my friends - nobody believes me. In those times nobody has a mobile phone with a photo camera, GPS trackers or something like these. So, I had the knowledge, I was overwhelmed with feelings, but I could not fully share it with others.

Nowadays, when technical progress over the past 20 years has overcome a path like the 200 years before we can to know about everything in the few second using the Internet. Everyone knows the joke: “If you can’t google it - It does not exist!”

Being a local guide, visiting new places, making wonderful photos, trying new delicious food - I have a chance to feel that feeling again - the feeling of all-consuming inspiration! And at this time, using google maps, I can share it with everyone! This is the case when something that you share becomes more!

Chasing inspiration.
