Charminar: The Living Symbol of Hyderabad

Hyderabad, the City of Queens, is incomplete without the pride of its skyline, the Charminar. Built in 1591 by Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah, this majestic square monument with four towering minarets remains the city’s most iconic landmark. Its spiral staircases of 139 steps, intricate arches, and floral artistry showcase a fine blend of Mughal and Hindu craftsmanship.

From the top, the views of Mecca Masjid, High Court, and bustling markets are simply breathtaking. Though the climb is steep, the reward of panoramic sights makes it worthwhile. The southern minaret houses a mosque, adding spiritual grace to its grandeur. Affordable entry, historical displays in Urdu, and the charm of nearby bazaars make Charminar a must visit for history buffs and culture seekers.

Hello @rizbab28 ,

Thank you for sharing this great location and beautiful photos with us.

Definitely, India has some of the world’s most beautiful locations and monuments!

As India is a huge country, which part would you recommend to a new traveler to start visiting from?

I am always touched by your comments and encouraged by fair appreciation. If someone traveling to India first time then he or she should choose the Oct to Feb as weather remain suitable. In my view Central India should be visited first. As Delhi itself needs a week minimum, then to Mathura the land of Krishna, Agra and Fatehpur Sikri Needs 4 days and then come to Ranthambore Tiger Reserve and wonderful forest, if still you have 6 days from Ranthambore come to Khajuraho where two days are required, Panna tiger reserve just 35 Kms and then back to Delhi. If Gwalior is included will be much appreciated. This tour will be for the history buffs heritage culture art and architecture lovers including the environmentalists. Hope it may help and thanks a lot.
