Chaparkhaneh

A caravanserai in the city of Meybod, which has become a post museum. There have been post offices in Iran for 2500 years and its name has been the Chaparkhaneh. One of the inns in Meybod has been turned into a museum with the same theme.

I love the architecture of this place @Rezgar , it really impressive. This hole in the roof of the dome reminds me of my visit to the Pantheon in Rome.

I don’t know where this feature has its roots or what its purpose actually is though, would you happen to know?

Hi dear @MortenSI
Thank you for your attention, my dear friend,
These holes are for use in sunlight.

It makes perfect sense about the sunlight @Rezgar , I just thought they might have a spiritual or religious meaning as well but I wouldn’t know what exactly.
