Channapatna Toys - What i brought to connect live 2019 as gift

The idea to share something from your country in connect 2019 with fellow attendees was fascinating enough to put you in a thought process of “hmm, what should i bring to connect”.

As I am living in Bengaluru, Karnatka, what better than Channapatna toys. Now what are Channapatna toys?

“These are the wooden toys made in the town of Channapatna, apprx 60 km from Bengaluru. The city is also known as town of toys.” You will find lots of small shops to whole sale dealers doing export all across India as well as out of country. So a Sunday before the trip i drove to the town and found this shop “Dolls of Channapatna”

I was looking out something small which does not add too much weight in my baggage and easy to carry. Then i found these little guys and decided to buy them for fellow attendees.

I bought a pen holder for @brittym and @TraciC, the people behind the LG connect events. (Post connect i got to know so many other Googler’s who work on LG program). Thanks to all of them for making it a great fun event (recap will come soon in a different post ?

And just to surprise @PaulPavlinovich who love trains i got this wooden train ?

Idea behind getting these small gifts is just to show the appreciation for the fellow attendees. (NOTE: It was strictly by choice and not at all required to bring gifts or anything in connect live 2019) It was a great opportunity to show some local art form to the global citizens.

I hope everyone who got these liked it and who did not may be next time ?

My train is in the train cabinet with the other members of my collection. I love the thought behind this and the simplicity of the train, I can’t thank you enough @GaganMishra

Hope you gave the toy shop a great review on Maps as the quality is excellent.
