Hello, this is my first post - Hope I’m doing it right and posting under the right topic.
When making a new road or letting google know about a wrong driving direction. It would be so useful if it would just be possible to choose from arrows - click the right arrow and thus changed or added the right direction.
Just something like this.
I have been trying to fix the roads in Iceland, since there are a lot of roads missing, a lot of road names and roads wrongly drawn, and also where there are 2-4+ lanes in one direction, trying to map that, but find it very hard to do the multilane mapping because I can’t add a driving direction then, but instead have to wait (for a long time) If the road is accepted and then writing a comment on how the directions are.
Do you think this is something that would be hard for google maps to add as a possibility?
Sincerily,
Stef

Hej Island og @stefoskars !
Thanks for your question. And yes, you posted it exactly where you should.
Indicating oneway direction by using arrows could be a problem because you don’t know where people are “standing” when adding a road.
If you use the Android app you will have the opportunity to add Further details before you tap send. In this text, you can explain if the road is one way and which way.
Or even better, you could reach out to the national or local authorities and explain to them that Google Maps has a program enabling local and regional partners to upload their data directly and automatically. Please learn more here: Google Maps Content Providers
Examples include municipalities and public transport providers.
This would make drawing the roads accurately a lot easier.

I believe you are aware how you can change the direction of an existing road in the Desktop Road editor. It is pretty simple.

PS: I do agree that it would be very helpful if Google would let us specify the direction when adding new roads.
