I have been contributing to Google Maps for a while and my recent stats showed I had over 5K contributions and over 10K points, but 2days ago I noticed that both my contributions and points have changed significantly, contributions came down to around 3.6K and points came down to 9.3K. Can you help me understand what is the reason for this?

Are you still experiencing this? Other Local Guides have reported a similar issue, which was resolved within a few days.

Hi @@@@@@DeniGu: I just checked, I currently have 12.598 points. I suppose that the missing points are back, but I can’t verify that. I had the impression the answers toyes/no-questions were reduced at the time the points were gone, but I can’t check that. I personally find the points system on maps not so transparant (or is it just me?) = points come and go, sometimes they immediately are there, sometimes you must wait some days till the stats are synced, …
Hi @DeniGu yes the issue has still not been resolved, the stats are still down, although when i submit a review the points are revised accordingly but the overall number is still down vs the actual points & contributions that was last week.

Apologies for my delayed response.
Do you know if the Auto-delete option is off in your MyActivity? It may be set to delete activity after a certain amount of time, which also impacts the Answers you give on Google Maps. You can learn more about this in this Help Desk article on Connect.

Hi @DeniGu , no worries and auto delete is off so that should not be the reson for drop in points. It has been almost a week now and points and contributions have not changed to the earlier no. It seems there is some other issue, this has never happened before and i have not changed any settings that could trigger the change.

Hi @DeniGu are update from the team? The stats has still not changed and im just wondering if I need to do anything else to get the issue resolved. Honestly it takes lot of time & effort to write reviews and suddenly the point and contributions drop like this is disappointing. I hope there is some resolution soon. Thanks!

Our responsible team has looked into your account and confirmed that your points have been reinstated. It’s possible that it may look like points are still missing from your profile because you have contributed on Maps since your report, adding more points and making it harder to track which points came from where.
Additionally, I noticed that some of your contributions have been made private. Points for private contributions may be deducted. If you wish, please feel free to fill out this form to request a further check on your contributions. Policy-abiding reviews and media will be reinstated, but please allow some time for that to happen. Thank you.
Hi @DeniGu sorry for the late response and thank you for the update. I dont see any change in points and also I have never made any review private, so yes I would like to understand which reviews have become private and also any other details that will help me understand the change/issue. I will fill in the required form so that the team can further check on the same.
