Yes Sweet and desert are mood enhancers ,they contribute to add value to our dish, party or occasion.
Here in India too the variety of sweets and desert are available which are certainly meant for festivals and occasions.
As today is diwali 
we celebrate the prosperity festival with the worship of goddess laxmi and share happiness with sweets sharing.
As I am now in punjab part of India hence sharing the dish called PUNJIRI .
these sweets are liquid free, made from Dryfruits and wheat floor (mainly),ghee and some part added with KHOA /MAWA
(Milk burned to get reduced 1/4th of the volume with stirring periodically).
Another one Laddu is another common sweets for diwali which is also made of a variety of types made with Bundi,motichur laddu with dryfruits laddu and many more.
As india is a diversified country of culture, so here every region has their speciality of taste and like .
people celebrate with traditional sweets and their making as per occasions.
Though these sweets found across punjab, Himachal and Hariyana.
However I have taken from
Gopal sweets Chandigarh having multiple outlets.

Wow, @Anil6969 ji, you provided some delicious sweet foods. It’s true that sweet things lift the spirits. Panjiri looks testy, and Mawa added some swets, which taste really sweet. I hope you have a good Diwali.I’m sharing a few things from Diwali .
#These photo shows a besan laddu created with sugar and besan and topped with dry fruit, an annarse made with rice flour and sweetening ingredients like sugar or jaggery, and a shankarpali made with maida and sugar,nankhtayi which is made up of suger and maida and also Sweet rawa ladu .all are Maharashtra authentic homemade diwali sweets.
