Challenge: Share your best photo of lemon juice on National Lemon Juice Day, August 29th!!

Happy :lemon: National Day of Lemon Juice everyone!

We celebrate the refreshing, bitter, and multipurpose juice known as lemon juice today. Lemon juice has earned its status as a culinary classic by giving our favorite foods a zesty kick and refreshing drinks a boost.

There are numerous ways to taste this citrusy delight, such as adding a splash to your homemade lemonade, marinating poultry in it, or squeezing fresh juice into your morning tea.

  • Lemon juice benefits include boosted immunity since lemons are rich in vitamin C, which strengthens the immune system.
  • Lemon juice’s acidity may improve the body’s absorption of nutrients and help with digestion and also promote weight loss.
  • Lemons’ citric acid can improve skin tone and gently exfoliate dead skin cells.
  • Lemon’s crisp flavor helps enhance focus and stimulate the senses.

For most uses, freshly squeezed lemon juice is the ideal type. It provides the strongest taste, fragrance, and health advantages.

However, bottled lemon juice can be an excellent substitute if convenience is your first priority. Just make sure to look for additional ingredients like sugar or preservatives on the label.

A collage of various lemon juices tasted in various locations, such as a large jar of lemonade placed in the pantry of Google’s Mumbai office. The second one is a typical Indian Limoo paani, and the rest are fresh lime soda with a sweet and sour taste!

Concentrated lemon juice can be used in place of fresh juice for baking. But it’s usually saltier, so you might need to change the amount of sugar in your recipe.

In India, a popular beverage with a lemon taste is called limoo pani. This cool and hydrating beverage is created with water, sugar, lemon juice, black salt (kala namak), and occasionally a dash of chaat masala. The flavor combination produces a distinct, tangy flavor that is ideal for hot summer days.

So let’s raise a toast to the common lemon and all of its exquisite potential with a glass (or a squeeze bottle)!

So here is the challenge: What plans do you have for National Lemon Juice Day? Share the best photo and comment below with your favorite lemon-inspired dish or beverage!

Cheers!

Hello dear @AjitThite

Nice challenge for the National Lime Day!

Many of the photos added are really beautiful too.

Here are two fresh from my home:

As @Tushar_Suradkar mentioned, we, too, have a lemon tree, though it is not a very high-yielding variety.

Photo #1; Caption: The lemon tree with the lemon.

Photo #2; Caption: Fresh homemade lemonade, prepared for our daughter by her mother.

Unfortunately, all lemon drinks make my stomach acidic; hence, I use it very rarely, just a little for tase during lunch, etc.

  1. @AjitThite I’m coming late to the conversation. My daily favourite drink that I sip on throughout the day is sparkling water and a thick slice of fresh lemon, which I have squashed out the juice. I leave the lemon slice in the glass as the skin is the source of essential oil, the power of the lemon.
  2. When I learned I had cataracts forming in my eye, I used Dr Google, and learned the eye is the only organ that stores vitamin C; therefore it must need it for eye health. Since then, I increased my intake by eating two mandarines a day along with the other vitamin C fruits I have for breakfast. This has helped keep the cataracts from not getting worse, for now some nine years. This is a very valuable lesson for me.
