Challenge: Review a dog-friendly place on Google Maps to win a Connect badge

Update September 15, 2025: Hi everyone, thank you for taking part in this challenge! Submissions are now closed. Please allow us some time to go through all of the entries. We will announce the results in a new post. Stay tuned!

Today is International Dog Day, but our community loves to celebrate four-legged companions all year around. From introducing pet-friendly cafes to initiating paw-some challenges and celebrating global howl-idays, your enthusiasm is what inspired this new challenge!

Are you ready to join in for the chance to win a Connect badge? Here’s how.

*Having a furry friend isn’t required but could definitely help.

The challenge

  1. Find a dog-friendly place or service near you on Google Maps.
  2. Make sure the business listing has the ‘Dogs allowed’ feature in the About tab or add it yourself once you confirm that dogs really are allowed! (read how to edit features further down)
  3. Write a review and share a link to it in the comments by September 14 (included).

Please note that you can edit a business’s features only from a mobile device. To do that, find the profile of the business that you want to edit, scroll sideways, and tap About > Features > Edit features. Scroll down to find the ‘Pets’ section and tap the description next to ‘Dogs allowed’ to change it. Tap ‘Submit’ and you’re ready!

The criteria

We will consider helpfulness, quality, and originality. Your reviews should follow our Community policy and the Maps user-generated content policy. Generic reviews with no distinct human voice and without an added value from the author’s perspective and experience will not qualify.

Important: Only good quality reviews to places with the ‘Dogs allowed’ feature will qualify for this challenge! Your review should be published on Maps in August or September 2025.

The winners

Everyone whose review follows the challenge instructions and criteria above will be awarded a Connect challenge winner badge or will be added to our running lists of challenge winners.

The results of this challenge will be announced in a new post — and if you share a photo of your dog at the business you’ve reviewed in the comments, we might feature it in our results topic!

We can’t wait to read your reviews! Join this challenge by September 14 by sharing a link to your Google Maps contribution in the comments below.

If there are no dog-friendly places near you or you’re not able to join this challenge, don’t worry; more challenges are coming up.

Edit & UPDATE
.
Funfact
My father kept two dogs in my ancestral home. My father had a rule that whenever he ate food in the morning or evening, he would feed both the dogs along with him and the most special thing was that wherever my father went, those dogs used to run behind my father on his bicycle, sometimes they would go with him for up to 10 km. Although my children are afraid of dogs.
BTW I like Alaska Breed Husky Dogs.
Here is My ENTRY
Thanks
.
Note.

Description:-
I tried to edit the Dog allows section but the about-edit option didn’t come up. Then I looked at his category and it was Veterinarian so I changed it to Animal Hospital.
Thanks
@DeniGu
Hope My Entry is Valid.

Great new challenge @DeniGu !
Even if I don’t have my furry friend anymore :smiling_face_with_tear: I’ll be happy to add that information in places I visit.

Here is my review of Cafetería Agroecológica Casa Tlalli

Happy dog’s day, tell your dog I said hi!

Thanks for new challenge @DeniGu

Special thanks for sharing the new contest with us.

Awesome! A theme I love, because most of the time we don’t get to go out much under the moon, as pet-friendly places in Canada only appear in the summer.

Wonderful challenge @DeniGu

Yes dog is the perfect unselfish and honest friend of human.

Thanks for sharing

Thank you @DeniGu for having a unique & pawful challenge on this day!

This is a dog in Beatles Cafe & Grill House. He’s so friendly & sometimes seats with customers & watch sea waves :ocean:. Here’s my review for the cafe.
