As a plant person, my review on Google Maps consists mainly of Plant nurseries or Botanical gardens. Wherever I travel, I check whether the place has Botanical gardens or museums related to Plants or ecosystems. During Covid times, I support local plant nurseries near me, either by adding them to Google Maps or adding storefront photos.
Some of plants I collects -succulents, cactus, etc..
How can you as a Local Guide can transform your place or home into a thriving ecosystem?
Visit nearby Plant Nurseries . (You can put the phrase “Plant Nursery near me” in the search bar of Google Maps to find them.)
Buy some Native Plants , which help in pollination by bees and butterflies.
Visit your local Botanical Gardens & you can know what plants are suitable for your climate.
How @TravellerG’s Challenge contributes to Google Maps!
Gives Support to Local Small Plant Nurseries .
Let Local Guides explore their local Garden Centres & Botanical Gardens and give their valuable reviews and contributions.
My methods on transforming your environment into a rich Ecosystem.
If you are into Birding, you might know that Birds are key indicators for having a rich and thriving ecosystem. For that, you need plants and they are the key stone and parent supporters of an ecosystem.
Planting Native flowering shrubs into soil.
Having a small moveable pond and filling it with native fully aquatic or semi aquatic plants .
I would recommend Hydrocleys nymphoides (waterpoppy) which is more manageable than lotus varieties and gives flowers for pollinators.
If you are planting Trees in your backyard or compound, Miyawaki Method is suitable : as it gives space for the ecosystem to thrive and fast growth of the species you put in.
I visit Sai Nursary, Meerut frequently as my wife is found of flower plant. I have already written a post related to Sai Nursary Meerut, Supporting Small Businesse. Here I am adding a pic from my recent visit on 06.04.25

Hello My Beautiful Mother Nature!
I AM, Because ‘YOU’ are.
You are the Echo of my voice,
The warmth of my heart,
Serenity of my soul,
The Joy of my life,
I am the loveliness ,that you have nurtured,
I sustain, because ,you thrive,
In your Arms, I cuddle with ease,
your generosity has never ceased,
I open my arms to embrace you today,
In a way You have me embraced Everyday.
Feeling Truly at home in the world
