Ah, summer! In the Northern Hemisphere, it’s that time of the year again when ice cream starts melting the moment you leave the shop and your clothes get damp after a couple of steps. Or is it winter where you are? The coolish wind gently brushing your cheeks while you wrap your palms around a cup of your favorite warm drink.
Although I’m a keen pistachio-and-vanilla ice cream fan, I love to try out different flavors in newly found ice cream places in the summer. Same goes for hot chocolate with whipped cream in the winter—I could have this goodness every day!
To discover great places to get treats like ice cream or hot chocolate, I often check out the lists Local Guides like you share on Google Maps. I open the Explore tab, browse through the various options, and easily decide where to go thanks to the detailed descriptions of every location. So, I thought I’d create a fun challenge.
If it’s summer where you are, create a list of the best ice cream shops in your area. If it’s winter where you are, create a list of the best places to get your favorite warm drink—whether that’s hot chocolate, coffee, or tea. Share your lists with us in the comments below and tell us about your favorite treat.
@DeniGu In Thailand, there are 3 seasons which are Hot, Hotter and Hottest. It’s a bit difficult to find ice cream shop in my area but I will give it a try. Thank you for the challenge.
Hello. Thank you for posting a nice topic. I love ice cream so I’m going to make a list of ice cream next time. I still want to eat soft serve. Thank you. Regard
This is a beautiful challenge. I love so much Ice cream and during the summer it becomes my favorite break in the hot evenings or after a good lunch. I crated a very short list if my favorite places in my town Parma where enjoying a good Ice Cream in Parma (Italy)
nice challenge, especially because it is still summer in Italy and a very cold and nice ice cream is a very good option at the moment. Challenge accepted, here my list of the 5 best ice cream shops in Lucca.
I have to say, I’m quite tempted by MUKA’s cheesecake and the waffles at Coffee Blues. Mykolaiv in general looks like a beautiful place to explore! There might even be water transport from the BulgarianBlack Sea coast to Mykolaiv.
The Riga ice cream looks sooo delicious! What did it taste like? I’ve heard that Riga Balsam has lots of different ingredients inside, like herbs, berries, and more.
And which season is now in Thailand, @Ant_Bad_Yogi ?
Are there any local delicacies or drinks that Thai people enjoy in the hot weather? I remember trying fresh coconut juice and slices of fruits in Bangkok a few years ago.
I’m really looking forward to your list, @955HIRO ! I just LOVE Japanese soft cream!
I imagine the ice cream on top of Tokyo Skytree is extra delicious because of the amazing views. I loved one vanilla and sesame seed soft cream I tried at Asakusa Shrine a few summers ago.
The places you’ve added have wonderful reviews and photos. Do you have a favourite spot among them? What’s a must-try ice cream dessert or drink to have there?
Parma is already on my bucket list with its charming streets and buildings!
It’s so great that you accepted the challenge, @LuigiZ !
All the ice cream places on your list are around some really amazing sights. It must be great to grab a cone of ice cream and take a walk around the centre of Luca.
Do you have a favourite flavour or a combination of flavours?
