Today, while I was in Delhi, I got a chance to connect with fellow Local Guide Siddharth. We decided to catch up at the NIV Art Center, which also happens to be the venue for our upcoming Mega Meet-up on 29th June.
While I won’t reveal too much about the venue—because some surprises are better experienced firsthand—I can assure you this: the space is not just a venue, it’s an experience! The art gallery is absolutely stunning, promoting access to culture and heritage, a key aspect of SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities.
Although coffee was offered to us at the center, we politely declined. Instead, we stepped outside and found a nearby permanent general store that also served tea. It proved to be an ideal place for engaging discussions over a warm cup of tea—perfectly aligning with the Chai Pe Charcha challenge initiated by @TusharSuradkar. The tea was delightful, and as I noticed the shop was missing on Google Maps, I took the opportunity to add it, uploaded a photo of its storefront, and was happy to see it instantly approved:

By adding this local business to Google Maps, we contributed directly to SDG 11 again—making communities more inclusive and digitally mapped—and also supported local economic growth in line with SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth. This act of mapping, sharing, and supporting local spaces reflects how Local Guides can foster SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through collaborative community-building.
This quick meetup turned into a refreshing blend of art, exploration, mapping, and chai-fueled conversations. Truly a day well spent—and a small yet meaningful step toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals through the Local Guides program.
Looking forward to seeing many of you at the Mega Meet-up!
