Street food literally is the best! At times you don’t feel like sitting or dining in a fancy restaurant but just try some casual snacking or munching on the road side. This was one of those days, a day when I thought it’s been ages I have tried some of the oldest street foods & snack shops in Connaught Place.
My first stop was Monga snacks - This shop has been there for almost 50 years now. It was always known for its Paneer Bread pakodas or rather bread pakodas. Now the menu is quite extensive.
Try their tea..it’s wow! They make their own tea masala and it tastes so refreshing and us par achanak se tez baarish! No seating and you are almost drenched ! To chai aur pakode aur uspar yeh mausam ..chai pe charcha @TusharSuradkar
Then this huge grilled vegetable sandwich is quite good.
My 2nd stop - Pappu Chaat Bhandaar on Kasturba Gandhi Marg, Janpath
Google map link - Pappu Chaat Bhandaar
Serves chaat, tikki, fruit chaat, aloo chaat and is especially known for his aloo chaat. It’s maddening crowd during weekday lunch hours. He has been there for years and the chutney he used for his chaat is quite tasty. He was like ap khaoge to bologe pehle kyun nhn aur ![]()
Sunday closed. Opens 10 Am. No seating.
Both of these are kiosks on the road side with no seating & no wheelchair accessibility as such.
