First of all, welcome to Connect! I wanted to let you know that you can tag a member when you want to make sure they will read your comment, since this way you send a notification. To do so, you just need to add the symbol @ before their name, like I did with you.
About your question, you can send private messages to other Connect members, you can do so by clicking on their name, which will lead you to their profile, where you will see the button “Send this user a private message”.
