Central Park - the Green Garnet in the Crown that is New York

The huge Central Park in the heart of New York is in stark contrast with the concrete jungle that the city is.
A beautiful serene park in the center of hustle-bustle New York City’s Manhattan.

I visited Central Park during winter and although there wasn’t snow at most of the places, the lake was frozen. The park was crowded despite the weather. I liked taking my time for a slow walk, just to enjoy a cold winter afternoon, looking at people and children playing while sipping a hot coffee in hand.

I decided to visit only one section of it within the limited time available and chose the Strawberry Fields. Beautiful is an understatement and wish I had more time to see every section of the huge Central Park. There was indeed so much to see.

This place is a gem in Manhattan, hence my advice to folks would be ‘don’t leave New York without visiting Central Park’.

Central Park offers several tourist attractions that can be covered by biking or riding 2-wheeler scooters but I preferred to walk around to warm up myself in the cold winter of December when I visited there.

With the seemingly infinite number of foot and bike paths that weave and wind their way through a vast expanse of towering trees, foliage, fields, and greenery of all kinds, Central Park is very much a place that must be experienced first hand in order to fully take in all the charm and splendor it has to offer.

I promise myself to return here in summer the next time.

Every care has been taken to make as many sections of the central park accessible for the differently-able and also for the vision-impaired.

What else to do in New York

While you are still in New York also nick-named the Big Apple, here’s a list of places you cannot give a miss:

  1. Times Square
  2. Rockefeller Center
  3. Staton Island Ferry Ride
  4. New York Stock Exchange
  5. Empire State Building
  6. WTC Ground Zero Site
  7. 5th Avenue Street and Shops
  8. Lincoln Memorial Park
  9. The Statue of Liberty
  10. Brooklyn Bridge

Have you ever visited a public park that is a major identity in the city?
I’d be interested in knowing.

Until then… Happy guiding

Thank you dear @Ravipanwar1

I appreciate your comment

Thanks for the appreciation @MayuriKubal

I recently read an interesting comparison between the SGNP of Mumbai and CP of New York both of which are located in the middle of metropolitan cities but specifically that SGNP is not only 8 times larger than CP but is also a natural formation whereas CP is artificially created.

We are truly blessed with nature, history, art, and architecture - all at our doorsteps.
