Did you know that pempek is included in the list of the most delicious seafood in the world? This is another version of pempek, a seafood specialty from Palembang, South Sumatra Province, Indonesia. Celimpungan is seafood made from fish meat and starch. Served with coconut milk which is rich in spices. Celimpungan is suitable for eating at any time and anywhere. I cooked this Celimpungan as a dish for breaking the fast during Ramadan. Celimpungan has a chewy and savory taste. The sensation that will not be forgotten by your tongue. Come on, visit the city of Palembang on the island of Sumatra, Indonesia. We have lots of delicious culinary delights.

Hello, thank you for replying my post.
You can search www.tasteatlas.com/seafood . Pempek is on the top 5 best seafood in the world.
Based on the ingridients, it is healthy for iftaar. Palembangnese (you know, Indonesia has so many ethnics) often eat this kind of food.
Let me tell you the recipe, (but pardon my english, i’m not fluent)
Pempek Recipe : Mix 1 kg of fish with 600 grams of starch and 300 ml of water. add a little salt. Then round shape. Boil the pempek dough that has been formed in boiling water.
Celimpungan Recipe : Grind 5 shallots, 4 garlic cloves, 1 tsp pepper, 1 tsp coriander, 1 cm ginger, 2 cm turmeric and 1 candlenut until completely smooth Heat a few tablespoons of vegetable oil in a pan, sauté the ground spices until fragrant Add 5 cups of thick coconut milk, keep stirring and cook over medium heat until the coconut milk boils Add 15 pempek, add 3 teaspoons of salt and 2 teaspoons of sugar and mix well Wait a few moments until the pempek is soft and remove and serve with a sprinkling of fried shallots.
Thank you for sharing some articles to me. I will read it !
Have a nice day
Hi @Faridakumalasari , welcome aboard
I really like pempek, but I have never eaten this type. Is this a new version and sold in food stalls? Looks like I have to immediately go to Palembang to try it in person. Thanks for sharing it here.

Hello Brian, thank you for replying my post. No, this is not. Maybe Celimpungan is just not as famous as Pempek. But you can find it at Pempek Restaurant when you come to Palembang.
I don’t really use Facebook. But i’d like to join whatsapp group. ASAP i will send you DM

Hai @Faridakumalasari .
Unfortunately I do not find this Celimpungan.
I eat Pindang Fish under Ampera bridge and can find any various pempek in some places at Palembang,
I eat the browniesh color of pempek and the white color.
I will try to find this Celimpungan when I visit Palembang.
