"Give blood and keep the world beating”, that is the slogan for 2021 World Blood Donor Day as set by World Health Organization (WHO). Every June 14, people from all over the world celebrate World Blood Donor Day. The message highlights the essential contribution of blood donors to make the world better in this difficult condition. As a local guide I feel responsible to take a part in World Blood Donor Day by doing some activities as follows:
1. Blood Donation
I live in Jombang, a very small town in East Java, Indonesia. There is always a lack of blood supply in some hospitals here, so blood donation is very important. Therefore in June 13 2021, Indonesian Red Cross collaborating with Tabloid Nyata and some NGOs conducted Blood Donor Program.
I am so happy because there are many youth participating in this event. I hope it will increase awareness that giving blood is a life-saving act of solidarity and a great contribution to create better world.
2. Editing Wrong Map of Healthcare Business
Local business providing healthcare service is very essential in this pandemic era. In my little town Jombang, there are some local business which move their location. Unfotunately, many people have not known about this because the new location has not been edited by Google Maps. One of them is Apotek Jaya Farma, a pharmacy which sell medicines and health products. It causes confusion for them. Therefore after the Blood Donation program, I went to Apotek Jaya Farma, talked with the owner, and edited the address.
3. Introducing Online Healthcare Business
In this pandemic era, local business which provides online services and cashless payments is very necessary to minimize direct contacts. Unfortunately there is almost no pharmacies in my little town Jombang which provides online services and cashless payments. I have searched about it for a long time but I couldn’t find any of them. Finally the wait is over yesterday. I found VIVA Apotek, a less-known local pharmacy which is the one and only pharmacy in Jombang which provides online services and cashless payment. I grabbed my camera and took bunch of pictures.
I hope by adding more pictures this pharmacy will be more famous and people in my little town will be familiar with online healthcare services
