Every year there is some unique theme for idols and decoration.
This year We all were curious if we would be allowed to Celebrate .
Luckily with some special guidelines we are allowed to Celebrate taking care of all the necessary precautions and allowing only limited people to join in at a time.
The idol is usually worshipped for 1 and half days, 5 days, 7 days or 10/11 days
And at my home we bring idol and worship for 10 days, even before I was born my grandparents and father started bringing Ganesha idol home.
I have always been very excited for the festival and this is it’s gonna be different.
We made sure all the guidelines are followed and started preparing for the festival, we choose this beautiful idol and decorated our home.
Fresh flower garlands, coconut, mango leafs, diya, insence sticks are used for puja along with fruits and special sweets like churma laddu made using coarse wheat flour with ghee (clarified butter) and Jaggery
And they are flavoured with cardamom and modak which are made in two types one is made with Khoya (dried whole milk) and other one is made with rice flour and filled with Jaggery and coconut with cardamom.
first day and the last day we make a full meal which consist of food made without onion and garlic.
the day continues with puja, and Aarti where we worship with folk and spiritual songs
we make a Aati thali (plate) where we place a diya (lamp), Kapur (camphor), flower petals
We also make special sweet dish everyday for 10 days.
We have visitors every year this year we are celebrating it differently, Thanks to the technology we will be having virtual visitors this year.
With use of video calls and google meets we asked relatives and friends to join us for the celebration and Aarti.
On day 10 (1st September, 2020) we will immerse the idol in water as this idol is made up of clay which is eco friendly, after which the water will be used for plants and trees.
