The 10 Years of Bangladesh Local Guides (BDLG) Celebration Meetup 2024 and 230th Meetup of BDLG was held on February 21, 2024. About 170 local guides from different parts of the country participated in this meetup. Set against the backdrop of the serene Fatemaâs Dell the venue promises a perfect blend of beauty and tranquility, making it an ideal gathering spot for this special event. The dayâs activities are scheduled to run from 10:00 AM to 06:00 PM, offering ample time for a full slate of engaging and celebratory activities.
Host:
The event is hosted by Sonia Khorshed, a figure synonymous with enthusiasm and dedication within the Bangladesh Local Guide community. @SoniaK 's leadership and passion have been pivotal in fostering a spirit of exploration and camaraderie among the local guides over the years.
Participants:
Anticipating the participation of over 170+ dedicated local guides, this meetup is shaping up to be a truly grand assembly. Individuals who have contributed immensely to documenting and sharing the rich tapestry of Bangladeshâs locales are coming together to share stories, insights, and forge stronger bonds.
Opening Ceremony:
In this session, all the core team members of Bangladesh Local Guides presented their introductions and also described their experience of starting the journey of local guiding. @MahabubMunna , Community Moderator of Bangladesh Local Guide, gave an overall idea about the aims and objectives of this community. In addition, core team members encourage new local guides to come forward to sustain the community.
Ample time for participants to mingle, share experiences, and collaborate on future projects, fostering a stronger community bond

Ms. Sonia Khorshed , one of the members of Bangladesh Local Guide and Connect Moderator, was the host of the meetup. Admin and Moderators of Bangladesh Local Guide group helped her to make success of the meetup.
Connect Moderator @SoniaK is giving her valuable speech on the 10th anniversary of Bangladesh Local Guide. Which gives inspiration and a lot of encouragement to all the local guides present in the event.
Question & Answer Session:
Bangladesh Local Guide core team member Hasan Shahid Yuvrajâs presentation during the question and answer session, many local guides asked various questions related to Google Maps. And senior local guides provide answers to those questions. Senior local guide Mr Nasir Uddin also share his experience with everyone. All local guides listen attentively to their experiences.
Foods:
Bangladesh Local Guide always try to serve delicious local food to everyone. And is always conscious of keeping food quality and nutritional quality good. Sometimes different seasonal fruits & Pithas are arranged and shared among all the local guides.
Games & Activities:
Bangladesh Local Guide organizes some games and outdoor activities in each mega meetup. Local guides participate in these games with great pleasure. Prizes are awarded to the winners of the Games. And the meet-ups are a lot of fun.
