Celebrate with Me is now Celebrate with Local Guides 🎉

Hy Local Guides,

What began in June 2024 as a personal endeavor to highlight international observances :tada:, cultural celebrations :japanese_dolls:, accessibility awareness :wheelchair_symbol: & promoting sustainability :recycling_symbol: has grown far beyond a solo project. Over the course of more than 160 posts, surpassing the 100th milestone in September 2025 and the 150th celebration in May 2026 - this space has evolved into an active, collaborative stage.

Because these celebrations truly belong to all of us, the series is officially stepping into its next chapter under a name that reflects our shared contributions: Celebrate with Local Guides.

This aligns naturally with other community-driven initiatives that bring us together, such as Pride with Local Guides :star: and Sustainability with Local Guides :recycling_symbol:.

Why the Change?

  • A Global Community Stage :stadium: : Every celebrative day, heritage day & accessibility awareness shared here thrives on stories, photos & contributions added by local guides.

  • Spotlighting Local Champions :flashlight: : Rather than observances from a single perspective, future editions will continue expanding collaborative spotlights, highlighting how Local Guides across different regions take real-world action on Google Maps.

Want to look back at the journey so far? You can explore the complete previous index of the series here: 150th Post Celebration & Index.

Tell Us: How Do You Celebrate?

Every culture, city & neighborhood has its own unique way of marking special days & that is what makes our community so vibrant.

  • Share Your Traditions :handshake:: How is the day celebrated in your part of the world? Tell us about local celebrations or community gatherings for the celebration that make the occasion meaningful to you.

  • Show Your Contribution in Action :pushpin:: Drop photos, reviews of local spots - parks, cultural venues, community centers or small local businesses that come alive or be part of these observances.

  • Connect Through Stories :clipboard:: Whether it is a small everyday moment or a grand festival, tell us what the day means to you and your community.

Every story you tell and every location you map proves that our differences make us vibrant, but our shared moments bring us closer together. No matter how big or small the occasion, there is always a reason to celebrate every single day.

Here’s to many more reasons to celebrate together with Local Guides :star:.

This has been phenomenal, dear @Rahul001
It was a long journey over the past 2 years, and I enjoyed it thoroughly :+1:

Gladly, I was also a part of several day celebrations multiple times

The new transition looks exciting, and the new dimension that you’ve added is wonderful :sparkles:

I am excited about participating in the new version as well.

The Celebrate with me Now series was a wonderful way to read about the celebration and to see the LGs who contributed to it. The upcoming Celebrate with Local Guides series promises to be even more exciting and inclusive. Thanks for sharing @Rahul001
