Cave Church - St. Simon "the tanner" Monastery

last year i have been visited this wonderful place
complex of copic churchs inside the cave
i have heard from people who working thier or visiting , This place was discovered as it was during the excavations of caves in the area in 1992. It was set up to become a church after its expansion and discipline.
place really nice and deserve to visit

It amazes me the things people discover during excavations of caves. Who knows what else is waiting to be discovered.

St. Simon “the tanner” Monasterysure looks like an interesting and special discovery. Thank you for sharing about it here on Connect and for the detailed photos :slightly_smiling_face: The Monastery reminds me of theRock-Hewn Churches of Ivanovo in Bulgaria. I have not visited any of them but would love to one.

What did you find the most interesting about the Church? Did they offer any walking tours? Have you been to any other similar places?

this place is really unique as I never saw anywhere else in my travel

this not only one church

it is complex of 5 or 6 churches in same place

and some families lives there and help people

and people can walk there and listen to the wonderful stories from old people there

yes yes , i heard from old people there many stories about miracles , one of them told me about big fire happened there but the paint of Jesus never been touched and safe
