Cataguases: The photogenic city with hot days and blue sky

Hi, everybody!

I am Paulo, from Brazil and I live in a hot and lovely city!

When I was child, I thought that I lived in a small town and uninteresting and that had nothing to do. Well, its still small, but I grew up and today I have a totally different view. I remember when a professor said in classroom once: “When you leave, look at the city, its full of details, that in the day-to-day running no one notices. Value it!” Was what I did! I’ve started to look at the city ever since. Hence, came a passion: to photograph. I realized that Cataguases it’s very photogenic, just point the camera for some place and you have a nice photo.

Cataguases it’s a city belonging to the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil and its population is approximately 75 thousand inhabitants. Its history begins in the mid 19th century with the arrival of the portugueses in the region, to populate and in search of diamonds, that they never found. The city gained national notoriety in the 20th century with its modern architectural designs and the artistic movement, mainly the cinema and literature. Since then, the city has begun to breathe art, movement that is seen and preserved to this day. It has become a favorite place for movie recordings, especially those that happen in small towns, or when it happens in the 50’s due to its preserved architecture.

Taking pictures of my city and share it on Google Maps, it’s a way to help and show to people, that here there are interesting and beautiful places to visit. Places like those, don’t exist only in large cities or in colonial cities. I’m glad when I see the photos being viewed and causing a positive impact for Cataguases tourism, that’s why I love share it. The photos aren’t only restricted to Cataguases, when I visit a new place, I like to take a photo and share it in Google Maps, so more people may be interested and visit.

Furthermore, I like to tell a little history of the place in the review, especially if it’s a landmark. Knowing the history of the place, is even more interesting, thus arousing the interest of the people in visiting it.

Thank you all!
