This is another favorite place of mine to hike in the San Francisco Bay Area. Castle Rock State park is round 30-40 Min drive from San Jose downtown. This is right on Skyline Blvd (Hwy 35), there is a paid parking, also there is free parking on Hwy 35 close to the entrance. Since this park and trail are popular some times getting parking place can be challenging. There is a campsite inside the park as well. There are few rocks (as the name suggests), where folks do rock climbing. There is loop trail around 4 Miles long, which I generally hike. There is a water fall (depends on the rain in this area) in this trail as well.
Hi @jayasimha78 , thanks for sharing with us Castle Rock State Park. The thing I like most looking at your photos is that the scenery and hiking conditions change and for sure you don’t get bored seeing basically the same thing for hours.
@Ivi_Ge You are absolutely right. I have been to this hike several times and different seasons. So far we have not got bored of this place.
Yes, it looks like you have not got bored of this place, @jayasimha78 . Is it good for beginners?
@Ivi_Ge It is good for beginners, half way it is climb to the top, then it is down hill. couple of places in the trail, you need climb mini rock. But it is not hard. Definitely not a flat trail.
Thank you for your answer @jayasimha78 . I am looking forward to read your new interesting posts
