Cascate del Doccione

In the month of August, the year 2021, we leave to escape from the heat that has been suffocating Italy for days, weeks now. They give us the best refuge, the trees, in all their majesty, charisma and effectiveness. You go by car, air conditioning to a minimum to breathe, take the new Bazzanese and go, for 90 km traveling between the villages on the increasingly uphill road towards the great Cimone Natural Park, where at a certain point you make yourself I realize that I am in the heart of their lungs, with tall trees between horse chestnuts and fir trees over 40 meters high, the latter dense, but dense and all in a row, straight as poles, with that leaf cover at the top that prevents rays of the sun to dry the ground, leaving the right humidity typical of these ecosystems crossed by streams. Yes eh, because then, once you reach your destination you can park low and have it on foot, or climb almost to the waterfall. Trekking shoes, poles, backpack, absolutely water bottle and camera. With a path also for the disabled for a certain stretch, you then reach the crossroads to start a nice climb on foot, with caution because it is not easy, but once you reach the first wooded breath you will say wonder, between the stream, the trees, the undergrowth and the light queen of forms, and you will want to remain there, with the water of the drinking stream at those heights … his ability but still a great show to be experienced. You can get to park up to the refuge, where you can stay overnight with a tent and offers a restaurant of local products with embers. The steeper uphill road narrows, suitable for fearless experienced drivers. There are many trekking routes. :hugs:  :it: The beauties of Emilia-Romagna
