Carnivale in Germany

The German way of celebrating is not compareble with the one in Brasilia or Venice , but here exists as well Carnival parades. There are small and big, historical and modern.

In fact the Carnival is related to the Christian Eastern Time, but about this I will not write. I take the pure fun factor. Some people like, some people do not like. In my opinion it depends.

In the time of Carnivale you can use crazy costumes. The fantasy has no boarders and all is somehow acceptable.

In addition to this you can use wigs, glasses and as well as a man a lot of makeup. But you can also use costumes to look like an animal …

When I was younger I preferred animal costumes like bear or tiger. I didn’t belong to the Cowboy or Police group. Still both of them are very popular for boys. I think when I was a little boy I was as well a smurf (the blue guys with the wheit hat)

When I have been older I used munk, troll and some crazy (my secret) costumes :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:.

The center of Carnival is along the long Rhine River in Germany, with a focus in the Rhine /Main region and of course Cologne and around DĂĽsseldorf, but you can celebrate as well in some parts of Bavaria and places located far away from the Rhine.

In North and East Germany it is less.

We dance and drink on the street and enjoy the community. The parade is than only something additional when celebrating  And we.eat so many DONATS you maybe can’t imagine. Good that after this are 8 weeks to fast…

What is in your country during Carnivale?

Does this calnaval take place in the streets of the city? In November?

Farid.

Thank you @ErmesT for the nice pictures! How colorful it looks!

Color make people happy.

@helga19 , the start is in November, up to End of Februar to the Ash Wednesday it comes more to the people also not so much involved in the Carnival celebration. There are a lot of parties on the street and in festival halls. It is not popular in all Germany, but as well there at least the children like to take on some special clothes…

Hallo @TorM ,

Thank you for sharing, @TorM . It looks like a carnival is a lot of fun wherever and whenever it is. I have a soft spot for those 80s tracksuits. I use similar for my personal inspiration from time to time. Sometimes I find it fun to play around with costumes even on a regular day. I think I need to visit a carnival to get it out of my system at some point.

Dear @PoliMC

Thank you for your advice.

Normally I like to post longer and more in detail, but I have since some weeks problems with creating posts on the mobile device (honor) and I loose content via this, what makes me sad and often I’m not willing to rewrite it.

Anyway I have added some information. Due to European law I’m not willing to post pictures from dancing people.

But once you need for sure to consider a visit in Germany during this time :tada::confetti_ball::tada:It is really fun.

Thanks a lot for your reply and that you added more details to the post!

Yeah, if I visit Germany this time of the year, I will join this carnival for sure. It seems very interesting and nice for me because it’s something different for me! I’ve never visited such carnivals so it will be a great experience for me.

I am looking forward to your next amazing post!
