Caption : delicious taro smoothie and green bean smoothie , not the lemon aiyu jelly.

I bought a lemon aiyu jelly drink that day. I drank it after nearly 3 hours.
This bit of sour lemon juice eroded the plastic cup. I drank the plasticizer from the first bite … :frowning:

It is a pity you could taste the cup @Sharling what were the other drinks like? Did you leave a review on Maps?

@PaulPavlinovich Hahaha, I don’t like to teste chemistry.
In fact, to a certain extent, I hate chemistry.:frowning:
I will discuss the problem of plasticizer with the Integrity store owner next time.

I did leave a review on maps about the other real drinks that are really rich and delicious which are from other different store.

@PaulPavlinovich I know that I am much more sensitive than the average person, so I never thought of leaving such a review on maps about the problem of plasticizer caused by unintentional.
But if the store owner doesn’t improve, I will write a comment to remind everyone to pay attention to this problem.:astonished:

It is always a good idea to attempt to resolve an issue with the business before leaving a bad review @Sharling good thinking.

In my experience, thicker and harder plastics are more resistant to acid and heat.

@PaulPavlinovich I told the owner about the plasticizer… Finally he told me: In fact, this plastic cup is not acid-resistant. Then I said: you can add a little less lemon juice, I feel too sour. But he said: many customers are asking for more! Add a little more!
His lemon juice is added separately, not blended in advance. So I will say that I want to add a little less next time.
Different concentrations of natural lemon juice (non-chemical) with different solubility of the plastic material produced different results of the interaction, have a chat with the owner, he also agreed …

That sounds like there might be a good outcome on the horizon @Sharling

Lately around home there has been a trend of people bringing their own glass protected within a stainless steel sleeve which would certainly be acid resistant.

Interestingly I did a little research (and asked my resident biochemist - my eldest son) and its not actually the acid that causes an issue, it is actually an essential oil - you can read about it here:

I have re-edited the post of the retro modern tofu pudding shop according to your instructions and added more content. But I have re-edited it several times, it’s not going well. I received a notification to become spam in the last re-editing. It’s currently awaiting review. I don’t know if I want to resend it? Let me show you the content first.

山水伯 tofu pudding shop is in daan district Taipei Taiwan. The owner keeps the original status of the 50-year-old house and there is a movie that has been filmed here.
I visited this shop because I was attracted by a lot of beautiful food photos on Google Maps. So I didn’t take any photos of any food. I just made up some scene photos and made a black and white photo on Google maps for the first time in my life. In order to echo the retro style that the owner wants to show. ^^
Then I feel beautiful and share it with my ig. I found the filter of ig. Nashville is also very good. So this photo was born.

The tofu pudding in this shop is also quite delicious, but it is not a strange thing to eat the unique and delicious tofu pudding in Taipei. I am also amazed at the creativity of each owner. :astonished:

@PaulPavlinovich My own eco-cup is still plastic :joy::rofl:, but it’s more heat-resistant. It used to have lemon juice and didn’t let me feel the plasticizer. Because I take it with me, I hope it is light and the capacity is large enough to cover the standard cup capacity of different shops. I haven’t seen any other material in the impression in my area that matches the two points.
I didn’t think it’s quite useful until I saw the eco-cup provided by a beverage store.(pictured) However, there are still shop staff who think that changing drinks to my eco-cup is very inconvenient for them. Of course, I will cooperate with them.
There are also shops that keep your cup in the shop for you, but you have to pay a little monthly rent to them.

@PaulPavlinovich Peeled pineapple wrapped in a plastic bag will also dissolve the plasticizer. Pineapple is not a citrus fruit. So not because of limonene but another essential oil?

@PaulPavlinovich I talked to you about plasticizers. I also think of a thing. Taiwan has been suffering from serious water pollution by glue since three years ago. Most people don’t feel it.

Until the beginning of this year, Taiwan’s Department of Health published a research report on tap water contamination by glue to confirm it.
Since acidic fruits such as lemon and pineapple can dissolve plasticizers, it means that eating more of these fruits can also dissolve some of the glue or chemical pollutants that are ingested in our body.
Just how much acid you can take depends on the difference in personal physique.
