Hace 15 años un grupo de industriales peregrinos bajo la guía de Monseñor Víctor Tamayo, Obispo auxiliar de Barranquilla, (en ese entonces presbítero) guardaban el firme propósito de construir un santuario mariano. Luego de una inclemente búsqueda, conocieron un terrero ubicado en el corregimiento el Morro (Tubará) territorio que marcaría el inicio de esta historia, el Santuario Mariano “Nuestra Señora del Morro”
15 years ago a group of industrial pilgrims under the guidance of Monsignor Victor Tamayo, auxiliary Bishop of Barranquilla, (at that time presbyter) kept the firm purpose of building a Marian sanctuary. After an inclement search, they met a terrero located in the village of El Morro (Tubará) territory that would mark the beginning of this story, the Marian Sanctuary “Nuestra señora del Morro”
En mayo de 2008 fue reconocido como Santuario Arquidiocesano por el Cardenal Monseñor Rubén Salazar Gómez.
1.5 km montaña arriba es aproximadamente el trayecto que recorren los peregrinos para conocer la imagen de la Santísima Virgen.
Los peregrinos, especialmente madres que no podían tener hijos, hoy suben a presentarlos como frutos de fe, quienes a través de tratamientos médicos intentaron tener hijos y no podían.
In May 2008, it was recognized as an Archdiocesan Sanctuary by Cardinal Monsignor Rubén Salazar Gómez.
