I have never heard that Guwahati is organising a Google Local Guide meet up so far. I think this will be the first initiative to gather a successful meet up. As you know that its not common in here that when you say I am Local Guide, people will think of some moment n ask whats that. So this meet up is organised for the unity of Google Local guides of Assam, especially the Guwahati Local Guides. Let’s introduce ourselves to the society and help people with our travel diaries. Come forward and introduce yourself. I hope this we will make happen this time. So there is enough time for the date we meet up finally. Thank you Regards Salim Al Abdullah N.B. The location of meet is not fixed. If you had a better place please do contact me. And as I cannot single handedly manage the meet up please come forward and help organising the event. @Salim-al I too am a local guide in Guwahati Who is trying to give best for Contributing in Google Maps. I would have been happy to join in this meet up since it is one of the first to be held in Guwahati. But I believe Before attending this meetup We should have atleast 10-15 Local Guides to join . Then only I believe it would be successful. Before that I think some advancements are required. We Should have a discussion with our local guides active in this forum. We can invite them by PM . And we can find them easily here. If you agree do give me a reply. I have many plans to discuss but before that we need an active local guides base in Guwahati. Since we have time We can discuss many thinks for organizing a Successful Meetup In Guwahati

@NikishD First of all thanks for your reply n giving importance to meet up. Yes, you are right we should atleast gather 10 people for a successful meet up and thats why I’ve choosen a greater time length so that the meet up proves to be a successful one. So, we should plan ahead . You can find me on facebook as Salim Al Abdullah and I’m doing biotech which you can see in my profile. Lets meet physically and make this meet up successful. If we don’t come forward now Guwahati will lack behind.
It would be good IF @TraciC ,or any community moderator helps in reaching our Fellow Local Guides in Guwahati and Guide us in Organizing this meetup. We need to connect with Other Local Guides. I discovered that @PranabN , @ShorjitS , @UtpalH , @ManirutZamanA , @AjayD were active on Local Guides Connect at some Point Of Time. So I urge them to reply with their suggestions regarding this Meetup.
BTW @Salim-al Would This meetup be map editing session ,photo walk, geowalk or a food crawl. Please elaborate your planning regarding this Meetup in Details. And @Salim-al try to ask your friends attending this meetup to be available in this Local Guides Connect. Because Our(Guwahati Local Guides) activeness here is low as compared to other cities
@NikishD First of all i would like to thank you for your best effort for the successful meet up. Yes, being a moderator, TraciC is a very busy person and i don’t know when she will reply if we ask for something but it if she replies then it would be our best luck ever.
And yes, those people are active at some point, I’ve seen their posts and activity too, it would be great if they join too.
Well @NikishD I’ve already opted the meet up reason ase other. As this is the first time I really didn’t had any idea then so I opted for the other category so that when we meet up we will discuss on it about which should we take as our meet up as.

@Salim-al do you think that we should change the time. Instead the meetup can hosted at anytime around 10:30-11:00AM . Since it one of the first meetup we should have sufficient time to think after gathering and make this meetup a successful one. Also 4:30 would be a bit late to think what we should do and then start doing it. I suggest it would be good if we use Google Products Like G+ to discuss about this meetup
Thanks for mentioning @PranabN . I may too not be available for few coming months available for meetup. But I am very positively Looking to forward to attend meetup next year for sure. But Let’s be available here so that we can discuss any topic for improvement of Maps in Our City. I see regularly few new members come here on Connect. Lets make sure they are kept informed about of Guwahati Local Guides. I believe @pragyanbezbo might be interested in this discussion. Nice to see enthusiasm from @BikashSharma@Salim-al . Our Guwahati Local Guide Community is Growing.
Yes we can definitely do a meetup in Guwahati. Winter is coming and so is the season for some travelling. We can meet up inside Guwahati someday, have some food, have some dance and music.
We can create one new discussion thread where we can plan something out and lets make this happen. This month will be slightly tight for me but December I will be free. Letting me know one-two weeks prior will be best for me.
