Explore Coventry (UK) Day 1 (of 2 days)

This weekend’s two-day event has been postpone due to COVID-19.

This is for both your own safety and the safety of others.
(Also, many of the shops and historical places maybe closed.)

The event is temporarily rescheduled to a future weekend probably in May… but we will recreate this event page, relist it, and inform all interested guests when the situation has calmed down in the UK and a safe date is available for the majority of out of town guests.

:heart_eyes: :heart_eyes: GET READY for the FULL & FUN weekend!!! :heart_eyes: :heart_eyes:

Day 1 (of 2 days) Explore Coventry!

:grin: Join this big fun group of Coventry & Manchester Local guides! We’re all coming together to explore this city! :grin:

  • 12pm (optional) Meet & Greet - (meet inside Windsor’s & Refreshed Coffee Shop, which is located just next to Fargo Village) This place has food & drinks options. It is attached to the Cyrenian’s Charity Shop, so you can go shopping too!

  • 1pm official start time: ‘Fargo Village’. Photo Walk & Maps Edits. ***Everyone meets inside Windsor’s & Refreshed Coffee Shop and we all walk around Fargo Village together. The goal of this is to check out the shops, take photos to post on Google Maps, do any shop edits like locations, opening hours, etc.

  • 3pm Sultan Restaurant. Turkish food for Lunch. “Photos, Food & Drinks”. (*mid range prices with huge portions. Additional tasty cheap eatery places nearby & vegan options too).

  • 5pm carpool/taxi to Coombe Abbey (12th century monastery) Photo Walk Explore the hotel lobby, corridors, bar, garden grounds, etc. &/or explore their 500 acre walking trails if weather permitting.

  • 7pm Return to Bubble Boba inside Fargo Village for optional evening activities of a Bubble Tea Class hosted by @AdrianLunsong .
    (This is a MUST RSVP through the Google Local Guides optional event.)

The entire day is accessible for wheelchair users and anyone with visible & hidden disabilities. Free to attend. Food & Drink purchasing is optional.

Very nice @TheRealKristin I like the packed schedule!

A meet-up split into two days will be interesting to follow. It sounds really casual and I’m sure everyone will have fun here.

I coordinated with @AdrianLunsong for this full weekend! He’s bringing his Manchester Local Guides and I’ll be bringing some of my Birmingham & Coventry Local Guides & Friends… it will be a big fun group of people for sure!!!

Many people are staying over night at B&Bs and Hotels… the ReCap will def be HUGE :wink:

This full weekend is open to EVERYONE around the UK & Beyond! People can attend one day or both days! This way more people can attend who wouldn’t normally be able to. :heart:

That sounds amazing @TheRealKristin , people are really going out of their way to be a part of this. Wish I could’ve joined!

I love the idea of just having two separate days open to everyone. It has a very casual feel to it. Can’t wait for this recap!
