Hi Townsville Local Guides! I don’t think there has been any formal Local Guides meet ups in Townsville to date so I would like to kick one off with an Accessibility Meet-Up walk through the CBD on a Sunday Morning (8th October I think just in case the Cowboys make the GF the weekend before!). Here is a 2min video from Google Local Guides which has some good inspiration for the focus of this meetup: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aU6YoOvBBxs&feature=youtu.be Here is a one pager on how to answer wheelchair accessibility questions: http://www.gstatic.com/local/guides/other/accessibility/accessibility_en.pdf My idea is that we could start around Flinders St west and split up walking down parallel streets through the city until we get to Denham St/Flinders St east before either heading up Denham St and to Gregory St or down Flinders St and around onto the Strand and up to Gregory St (or turning around and heading home depending on time, heat and individual stamina/availability). Open to other ideas about how we do it too. Feel free to come as a couple, family or your well trained dog(s) (should be okay I think) for the walk. It’ll be very casual and a fun learning experience for all of us! Let’s meet in the car park near Max Brenner before heading off and deciding what directions each person, couple or family will head off in.
