Canary Islands

Día de los Reyes Magos

in Spain and South America that´s an important day during the christmas season. Every town is doing efforts for the celebration. One thing is the illumination. Here at Lanzarote the little town Tinajo seems to be a good example.

I only can recomment, visit this town, and in particular on the night of every 6 January.

Hi @ReinerS ,

Could you tell us more about this event? Are there only fireworks or something else as well? I’ve never heard of this, but it sounds very interesting. What exactly is celebrated?

Hey @ReinerS ,

Thank you for sharing this nice photo with the community.

I am happy to see a post about the Canary Islands because I had the opportunity to visit Lanzarote this summer and I was amazed by its beauty. It is not the typical green island but that is the best thing. I have never seen a volcano and frozen lava before. I took a thousand pictures.

I drove through the whole island with the rental car and passed through Tinajo right after the Los Volcanes Natural Park. I like that all the houses are white and with no more than two floors.

I would like to visit the Canary Islands again so that I would be able to see the holiday decorations. It must be nice to spend Christmas on an island.

Here are some photos which I took during my trip to Lanzarote.

Hi DannyS

whell, the day I am mentioning is nothing else than the Epiphany celebration (Holy Three Kings) all over the world. However in Spain this is one of the most important holiday.

So, you may expierince such celebrations all over in Spain.

Since the town I´m mentioning is my second domicile, it came in my mind to say some words.

Other than at the most contries in Spain people are sharing theire Christmas-presents.

Also the day before there are many activities everywhere. Just as sample attached a typical program nearly every city-council is going to issue right at the beginning the christmas-season.

A pageant takes place in honor of the three holy kings. Here a sample video https://youtu.be/4F1Q1BlPDAk

@ReinerS I am adding Canary to my bucked list, I have been coming across far too many nice post about it.
