Hey @_R_l1 ,

Welcome to Connect!

Thanks for sharing this shot with us! Is there something else that you would like to share with everyone? You could mention where did you take this photo, what device did you use, etc.

Are you into photography? What type of photos you like taking the most?

Here are some interesting articles you could read before your next post How to tell a story through your photography and 6 tips for taking even better photos with your phone.

Thanks, even if from time to time I like to post photo ‘just to have a look’ without any strorytelling behind. Just because i am rather photo than story.

For here, I could mention that I was sailing in Santa Manza bay when those Canadair had a trial run. I took the opportunity to use my 200mm and x2 which makes 400mm for the result I shared above.

Thank your for the explanation, @_R_l1 .

Would you prefer taking photos with a professional camera or a phone? I personally like the quality of my phone camera and use it all the time.

I would say new phones are perfect for 99% of photo.

When you need long exposure or specific setting, camera stand better. And also if you want to do poster bigger than A4 size or photo resizing in case you are interested only in a part of the photo. Last but not least, night shot are less noisy, quiter with a camera than phone, even if those are progressing very fast.

In the past, people moved from argentic to digital. Same today from digital camera to phone camera.

I agree with you, @_R_l1 . In most situations new phones are pretty good and often are enough for the user. On the other side, cameras can provide you with experience that phones can’t.

A good example is the night shots. This is one of the things I wish to be able to do - capture photos of the sky during the night. I guess there are specific lens for this one. What do you think?

If you want to start night photo, you need first a tripod and option to set exposure time.

Depending on the darkness, you will need more or less than 30 sec.

Over 30 sec., you will notice stars are moving (along a circle)
