Can we use these pictures and paintings?

Dear @DeniGu wrote " How do I follow the original content guidelines on Connect? " post and she told us " Only share photos you have taken yourself or received permission to use directly from the copyright owner. "

Some posts require the use of a picture or painting that does not belong to us, but the owner of the photo is underneath the photo tell us that you can use this photo with the source name.
If we mention the source of the photo according to the owner of the work, Can we use these pictures and paintings?

Hi @Rezgar ,

Thank you for your question.

We expect Local Guides to only post photos they have explicit permission to use, as it’s not enough to just mention the name of the original author of the photo. If you don’t have the owner’s permission, don’t use their images.

For example, you find a photo that you wish to use on Connect on a stock photo website. Some websites allow you download images freely, while others require you to pay to download. It’s important that you familiarise yourself with the terms of use of the images you download, because some websites allow you to use the photos across many platforms, and some don’t.

Once you’ve received the owner’s permission, you should always give credit to them. Following the guidelines in How do I follow the original content guidelines on Connect?, you can give credit for photos you have permission to use by writing “(Courtesy of ‘Copyright Holder’s Name’)” in the photo caption.

I’m sure you have many amazing photos that you could share with us! And if not, you can always make use of our our photo library which offers a great variety of photos, all approved to use.

Hope this helps!
