Some posts require the use of a picture or painting that does not belong to us, but the owner of the photo is underneath the photo tell us that you can use this photo with the source name.
If we mention the source of the photo according to the owner of the work, Can we use these pictures and paintings?
We expect Local Guides to only post photos they have explicit permission to use, as itâs not enough to just mention the name of the original author of the photo. If you donât have the ownerâs permission, donât use their images.
For example, you find a photo that you wish to use on Connect on a stock photo website. Some websites allow you download images freely, while others require you to pay to download. Itâs important that you familiarise yourself with the terms of use of the images you download, because some websites allow you to use the photos across many platforms, and some donât.
Once youâve received the ownerâs permission, you should always give credit to them. Following the guidelines in How do I follow the original content guidelines on Connect?, you can give credit for photos you have permission to use by writing â(Courtesy of âCopyright Holderâs Nameâ)â in the photo caption.
