Can’t write a review on my iPhone anymore

Since a couple of hours ago, after I bought a new tourist sim card, I can’t write any review on google maps on my iPhone anymore. I don’t know if this is just a coincidence, but I’m using a dual sim in my iPhone XS.

My eSIM is my home SIM and the plastic SIM is my tourist SIM card.

I try to choose random places around the world to double check that issue, I can’t write any review.

If I choose a restaurant I can see reviews from other people, but there is no possibility that I can write one, the options is missing under reviews.

If you go via - your contributions-> contribute → write a review → choose a random place → Hotel… can’t be reviewed (select an other place). same thing with pictures.

I found out that a friend is able to write an review for a place I can’t.

First I was thinking I got black listed or something else but then I realised that I can still writing reviews but just on my iPad with the same account, that I’m also using on my iPhone.

It looks like that is just a problem on my iPhone.

  • im also installed the google maps app again.

  • restarted my iPhone

  • closed the app in background

  • google maps clear application data

does anyone know something about that issue?

Hello @Carlos77
I found your query to be unanswered for two months.
Incidentally, I find you have submitted many reviews after submitting this query.
It will be interesting to know how did you resolve the problem.

Hi C_T,

unfortunately the problem isn’t solved and still exists.

i use my iPad to write reviews, my iPhone has still the same problem, I can’t write reviews.

kind regards,

carlos

Hello @Carlos77
Thanks for the response.
In your initial post, you had mentioned that you were using a travelling SIM. It’s not clear whether you are continuing with that or now gone back to your original SIM.

The maps app is known to lock or unlock certain features depending upon the region of the use. However, since you can post reviews through the iPad, that is not the case.

Nevertheless, the situation described by you may be caused by interference through

  1. Ad-blocker service
  2. VPN service
  3. Antivirus program
  4. Browser extensions.

I suggest you disable all these temporarily & then try using the Maps app on the iPhone. Further, use the same internet service provider currently in use on the iPad.
