Can not upload vidoes

Hi,

Greetings form Nepal.

I am noticing since last few days that I can not upload the videos of POI in Google Map and number of videos is not increasing as well after 330 . Before this issue, it uploads easily and shows the notification progress of videos uploaded. Now, I could only upload the photos. I am enclosing my contribution profile screen shot for your reference. Can anyone have any idea why this is happening and how to resolve this issue? All the support and assistance to resolve this issue will be highly appreciated.

Please check if your settings are set to upload videos over wifi only.

Is your problem that you can not select a video to upload or does the uploading fail?

There is often a delay in the contribution stats, so that part is secondary to not being able to upload videos.

Did you try to select the place first and not the video first when trying to upload the video?

Are you on IOS or Android?

Hi, Thank you for replying.

I only do upload the photos/videos only when in wifi and I checked the cause as you state - it’s not over wifi.

There’s no any issues to select videos and photos to upload neither it shows fail status while uploading videos. It just keep in silence mode without showing any status and it happens only when trying to upload videos and while uploading the photos it does not cause and shows all status and points gaining in contribution.

I tried to upload the videos after few days when checked there’s no videos of mine in POI assuming delay in contribution and it still come up with nothing.

I always do select the POI in first priority then do only upload videos. I also tried videos with share option with google POI by concern place name in priority and it also goes silence without any notification status and contribution.

I am in Andriod with Huwaei model Honor 8A and it is happenging since last week, at earlier there’s no issue with videos uploading same system.

I hope you will come up with more solution to resolve this issue.

Could you try from a computer?

To me it sounds like an issue on your device.

Please, try Clear cache & cookies, if you have not already done so. The link has step-by-step instructions for Android, IOS, and Desktop. Just select the relevant tab at the top.

Also, please log out of your Local Guides account and log back in, and update your Google Maps app if necessary.

Also, please check if you make a star-only-rating if it goes public. And remove the rating after your test.

Is your question that you didn’t get a notification when you uploaded a video?

Yes, It did not notify nor it shows progress status like while do upload photos. The most shocking is when I check Google Map app after update it is not showing contribution column/tab. I am worried if Google stopped Google Local Guide feature in Huawei Honor 8A. I have enclosed the screen shots for your reference.

No contribute tab while logged in. This I have never seen reported before.

Thank you for replying.Well I already tried by clearing caches & cookies which all went in vein and even I updated the Google Map apps after that which gave more issues where did not get the contribution tab/column now by which I get my profile, following, followers, badges, points etc. Before December 5, all things were going fine with Google Map.

Would you be able to test from another platform?

I think we need a Google moderator to help you. She will likely ask you to share your operating system version and which version of Google Maps you are using.
