can not review any place on the map

Hello all,

recently i deleted my application (google map) and reinstall it, since then I can not review any place, the issue is happening in all places on the map even my previous reviews, i can not even editing my own old reviews.

the model of my device is iPhone XR , and now i am using the latest version of google map.

i guess it somehow must be related to my setting of the google map app. I had this issue one more time when i bought my iphone and I thought after changing the setting from “restricted” to “public profile” the issue solved, but apparently i thought wrong.

anyway, i went through all the setting and couldn’t find the soloution unfortunatly.

your help would be highly appreciated, thanks a lot in advance.

To better help us, can you please give a few more details:

Is the issue happening in that place only, or in more places?

Can you share the link of the place?

Can you tell us the model of your device, and type and version of your Operating System. This will help the team to investigate

Please confirm that you are logged in using your usual Google Account and that you can see your previous contributions.

I just made a short review of the place you mentioned:

And I had no problems posting a review. I deleted it again since I never visited the place.

So the issue is most likely linked to your account.

@MortenCopenhagen thanks a lot for you efforts, your comment gave me the idea though. I can check and try to review places with another account and if it works with other device, then check again with my device. then i will understand that it has something to do with the device or not.

@MortenCopenhagen well, yes, i can edit and make new reviews with the very same account using desktop chrome, so it is defiantly pertinent to setting of my app. but i can not find it yet :disappointed:

Please, try Clear cache & cookies, if you have not already done so. The link has step-by-step instructions for Android, IOS, and Desktop. Just select the relevant tab at the top.

Also, please log out of your Local Guides account and log back in, and update your Google Maps app if necessary.

i found out there is no problem with my current account on the web (chrome and…) but mu issue still exist on my app.

i deleted the app reinstall it again and still no progress.

Can you please try to uninstall the latest Google Maps update (long pressing Google Maps app icon → App info → right top 3 dots menu → Uninstall updates) and then upgrade from Play Store? Let me know the results.

actually i am using iOS, and the instruction you gave me seems not being match with iOS.

anyway some days ago i uninstalled the app and reinstall it but it didn’t help.
